Weed Harvester Clearance and Low Wake Zone

Clearance and low wake zone please!

It has been great seeing the weed harvester out so much, but please give this machine ample clearance and as little wake as possible. We have had several boats coming in very close and circling the harvester to investigate, but the wake they create means we are susceptible to damage by unexpected rocking. Reminder that we are pulling from the bottom so if we see boats approaching closely we are lifting from the lake bed and not harvesting properly because we don’t want to damage the machine.

4th of July – Annual Boat Parade

Hope everyone is ready for a 4th of July celebration weekend on beautiful Caribou Lake. As you prepare your weekend plans, don’t forget about our annual boat parade hosted by Rosie and Les Adolphson. Get your boats ready and meet in the bay by Shady Lane (north of Kehtel Road) to line up at 1:00pm. Last year’s winner gets to award this year’s trophy. We can’t wait to see your creative and festive boats come to life!

June 12, 2021 – Upcoming Caribou Lake Association Meeting

The next Caribou Lake Association meeting will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00am at the Sheet Metal Workers Labor Building. For those that have been in the area a while, this is the old Caribou Lake School building. The address is 6279 Industrial Road, Saginaw, MN 55779 and the building is located on the corner of Industrial Road and Munger Shaw Road.

As Northern Minnesota residents, we are fortunate to live in an area with some of the darkest skies in the Eastern United States. But it’s important that we take measures now to preserve this treasure. New Trail Open in “Our Backyard”

Caribou Lake has many outdoor enthusiasts and I often see neighbors who regularly walk, jog, or bike with their families and pets down the well-used pavement on Sunny and Shady Lanes. I am sure many other roads around the lake get used frequently as well, so it is nice to have a new off-road option to explore. The Industrial Road One-Mile Loop Trail is now open for hikers and bikers. The trailhead is located at 5594 Industrial Road and has ample signage and parking.
